Mann's Chinese Theatre was the site of the premiere for FINAL DESTINATION 5 starring Tony Todd. FD5 will mark the tenth anniversary of the original FINAL DESTINATION film that also starred Tony Todd. The crowd roared with laughter and screamed with fear and applauded loudly on their feet at the end of this fun 3D roller coaster ride. Tony was cheered by fans as he arrived on the black carpet.....they swarmed him in the theatre..........and mobbed him on his way to the after party. Tony's performance is one that will please fans and invite new initiates alike...............THIS IS A MUST SEE............

I have to admit that I haven’t watched a single installment of the Final Destination franchise. I’ve certainly had ample opportunity to do so, since there’ve been 4 of them between 2000 and 2009, and there’s a 5th one on the way, scheduled for release in August this year.

As I type this, I’m actually streaming the first one thanks to my Amazon.com and Roku Player, if only to catch up with the series, and partly because our man, Candyman himself, Tony Todd was in 3 of the first 4, and will also feature in the upcoming 5th film. None of them has been rated very highly, but they were all relatively cheap to make, and did decent box office (compared to cost), which is probably why there’ve been several sequels.

I’m only about 20 minutes in, and the character Todd plays has yet to be introduced, so

 

 

More Final Destinations on the Way?

For a while in 2009, Final Destination producer Craig Perry attempted to convince the gullible among us that The Final Destination would be the "final" installment in the franchise. At the time, Perry said that the fourth movie "will probably be the last movie for a variety of reasons" and would "put this thing to bed in a great way".

However, much like the impetus to make The Final Destination, the ringing bell of a cash machine struck as The Final Destination won its opening weekend and went on to earn $186 million worldwide. Hence, Final Destination 5 was announced months later.

But are even more Final Destinations on the way? The answer is yes, according to a DreadCentral interview with horror movie staple Tony Todd, who reprises his Final Destination and Final Destination 2 character of prophetic mortician Bludworth for Final Destination 5.
